Remote NOC and Windows Systems Engineer

 

Our client, one of the largest Managed Services Provider in North America, is looking to hire a Remote NOC and Windows Systems Engineer. You will be responsible for maintenance activities for about 125 servers (physical and virtual) and 900 computers, including Windows and Apple. You will also be performing project work, mainly in the cloud space. The project work involves building services for the company's clients; this is not a customer-facing role.

There are three main responsibilities for this position:
  1. Performing Network Operations Center (NOC) activities (maintenance)
  2. Being the Point of escalation for system backend issues
  3. Collaborating on remote project work related to on-premises and cloud-based systems and services
The maintenance activities can include:
  1. Ensuring the RMM update procedures are running for each device type
  2. Fixing OS update issues
  3. Checking that backups are operating correctly
  4. Checking that endpoint protection is running correctly
  5. Tending to and remediating system alerts, such as low diskspace
  6. Maintaining NOC plan including daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual activities
  7. Performing cyber security tactics to ensure secure environments
You, as a point of escalation, should have solid troubleshooting, diagnostics, and remediation skills and experience with Windows computers, networks, and servers, as well as Microsoft 365 and Azure. You will also tend to issues related to hardware, connectivity, and system configuration and within the realm of service.
As part of a remote project team, you will need proven skills and abilities in computer, server, and email migration (primarily to Microsoft 365), and Azure services and server deployment.  Deployment of 2FA is commonplace, and interest in SSO, Zero Trust, and Data Loss Prevention is on the rise.
